Frequently Asked Questions

What issues can counselling help with?
Counselling can support a wide range of challenges, including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, grief and loss, life transitions, trauma, low self-esteem, and burnout. It’s also a space to explore personal growth and navigate any life changes you’re facing.
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to navigate life’s challenges, counselling can be a helpful space. Even if you’re not in crisis, therapy can provide support, guidance, and tools to improve your wellbeing and relationships.
Your first session is usually about getting to know each other. We’ll discuss what brought you to counselling, explore your goals, and answer any questions you have. It’s a safe, judgment- free space to start sharing what matters to you.

Sessions are 50 minutes which gives us space to connect, talk through your concerns, and work toward your goals. If you’d like a bit more time for deeper conversations, you can also book 80-minute sessions.

It’s completely okay to feel unsure. Your consultation and first few sessions are a chance to see how counselling feels and whether it’s a good fit for you. To make this easier, the first individual session is offered at $99. There’s no pressure and no judgment — just a safe space to explore if this feels right for you

How often you come depends on your needs, goals, and practical considerations like insurance or finances. Many people start with weekly sessions, while others choose every two weeks or come as needed. We’ll talk together in your consultation or first session to find a rhythm that feels right for you.
Both online and in-person counselling can be equally helpful. It really comes down to what feels most comfortable and convenient for you.
No referral is needed. You can reach out directly to schedule a session.

We currently offer direct billing for Pacific Blue Cross, Sun Life, GreenShield, & additional providers through TELUS Health eClaims. It’s important to double check if your insurance plans cover RCCs and CCCs. If your insurance plan does not offer direct billing yet, we’ll provide an invoice that you can easily submit for reimbursement.

TELUS Health lists many participating insurers including Canada Life, Manulife, Beneva, BPA, ClaimSecure, Equitable, GroupHEALTH, Johnston Group, Simply Benefits, and more.

Coverage will depend on your individual plan and provider participation, so direct billing availability may vary. If you are unsure, feel free to reach out before your first session and we can help confirm your eligibility.

We’re able to connect with clients virtually across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Newfoundland & Labrador, Yukon, Nunavut, and the Northwest Territories. Coverage can vary, so it’s always a good idea to double-check with your insurance provider to see if they include RCCs — and if you’re unsure, we’re happy to help you look into it.
